I remember when I was first telling my husband about my idea for this site... How it would include articles, reviews, a boutique, and even a community where women could come together and support one another.
Thankfully, my husband is wonderful and always supportive of me and my off-the-wall ideas—but he did admit to not understanding why community was necessary. I'm here to tell you...
Community is vital when it comes to both exploring and enjoying a breast augmentation!
1. Community Creates: Courage
I will be the first to admit that considering a breast augmentation can be a very uncertain, even scary time. That’s why it’s so important we remember that community will always create confidence, and isolation will only feed fear. C.S. Lewis was right...
“Friendship is born at that moment when one person says to another: 'What! You, too? Thought I was the only one.'"
So let’s step out of the shadows, allow other women to know us, and receive a huge dose of courage.
2. Community Creates: Wisdom
Just like the old Proverb says, “In the multitude of counsel, there is wisdom.” We all know that the more advice we get, the better decisions we end up making—especially when it comes to subjective topics like breast implants.
Taking the time to consider multiple women’s experiences and viewpoints about breast implants will always help us make the wisest choices.
3. Community Creates: Joy
One of life’s simple truths, “It’s better to give than to receive.” When we are generous with our honesty and openness, we naturally receive joy and happiness as a result.
And one of my favorite things about vulnerability is that it’s contagious.
I’ve personally experienced this, and it’s an amazing feeling when you realize how much of a difference your voice made in someone’s life.
Thoughts from Dr. Michelle RoughtonSo true -- the importance of having a community of women who have the same questions that you do along with those who have the experience of breast augmentation cannot be overstated. This is true from the beginning when you're first looking into the possiblity, all the way through your consultation, surgery and afterward.
Our team is top notch at making sure you are comfortable with each step of the process, but there really is such an added benefit to being able to connect directly with other women in a community like the one that Jenny Eden has created.
