Ok.. here’s the spoiler... there’s no RIGHT time to get breast implants. Although, there probably is a WRONG time.
When you are setting the date for your breast augmentation keep in mind timing really can be everything, and if you haven't factored in your recovery time then your timing might be wrong.
Recovering from a breast augmentation is not an overnight process.
Yes, you'll be back to your usual self within a few short weeks. However, the process of your breast implants settling and softening (Hello drop and fluff!) is a longer road.
From a purely practical perspective these things might require some planning where breast implants are concerned...
Planning a Breast Augmentation Around a Wedding
If you’re planning on squeezing your new girls into a special white dress give yourself at least 6 months after breast augmentation surgery to have boobs that are ready for the occasion.
Most women get fitted for their wedding dress well in advance of their big day. Giving yourself even more time is probably a good idea, and definitely won't hurt.
You definitely do not want frankenboob in your wedding pictures.
Breast Implants before or after kids?
Some women prefer to wait until they’re done having their children before getting their breast augmentation, but that's just a preference.
If your baby plans are way off in the future then don't feel like you have to wait. Having breast implants won't affect your fertility or the health of your baby, and most women can still breastfeed with breast implants.
However, if you do get breast implants before having a baby be prepared for possible revision surgery, because after pregnancy your boobs may change.
Losing Weight before or after Breast Implants
If you’re planning to lose a lot of weight it's best to wait until you’ve reached your goal before having a breast augmentation.
Your breasts will definitely change during weight loss (usually they're the first to go), and in order to choose breast implants that will fit your body best, you need to know your true starting size.
Athletic Training before or after a breast Augmenta
Most plastic surgeons recommend no cardio for at least 2 weeks post-op and upper-body exercise is strictly off limits for at least 6 weeks!
If you're a professional athlete, serious yogi or just a gym rat make sure you leave enough recovery time after your breast augmentation before you need to train for a big event or get in shape for summer vacation.
The best way to know if you're ready to start sweating again is just listen to your body. If it hurts or doesn't feel right- stop.
It will be worth it in the long run (pun intended)!
Whether it’s a wedding, planning a baby or a triathalon, keep your recvoery time in mind when planning your breast augmentation.
You’ll know when the right time is for you... above all don’t make this a rushed decision. Boobs will (and can) wait until the time is right.
