I want to tell you about something that happens to me way more often than I’d like to admit. Maybe it happens to you too... Have you ever heard someone say something, and then (after much confusion) it turns out what you heard was slightly different than what they originally said?
It happened to me the day I asked my plastic surgeon what he suggested for a faster breast augmentation recovery. "If I were you, I would pick up some Bohemians in Montana."
Turns out what he really wanted me to pick up was some Bromelain and Arnica Montana.
That’s a very different conversation!
These two supplements are tried and true methods of reducing swelling, bruising and expediting healing—so much so, that a lot of plastic surgeons are recommending their patients begin taking them a few days prior to their breast augmentation.
Bromelain and Breast Augmentation Recovery
Bromelain is found in pineapples and is taken primarily for bruising and healing. In fact, in one well-publicized study of boxers, those who took Bromelain supplements healed twice as fast as boxers who did not take it. (Off topic, but I would also encourage you to eat pineapple during your recovery, as well.)
Arnica Montana and Breast Augmentation Recovery
Arnica Montana is a homeopathic remedy that contains nutrients which are especially important for the reduction of bruising and swelling. To take them, simply place the recommend dosage into the cap, and then toss them into your mouth being careful not to touch them with your hands.
I know there can be some apprehension around all-natural or homeopathic supplements, but I encourage you to at least consider these two. I began taking both Bromelain and Arnica Montana 5 days before and after my procedure, and I had very minimal swelling with no bruising at all. Give ‘em a shot!
