5 Ways I'm Dealing with My Breast Augmentation Jitters

So I shared in one of my latest videos that I’m a little nervous about my upcoming breast implant revision. Since I want to really enjoy this journey, I’ve written out a few ideas to help myself relax and soak this process in.

We’re in this together so I want to share them with you.

 nervous about breast implants

Don’t worry, I’m not going to tell you to go to your “happy place”. If that works for you, by all means, go there! If you’ve already gotten your breast implants, maybe these tips can get you and your lovely boobies through a stressful deadline this week.

Journaling before your breast Augmentation

I’ve found journaling to be therapeutic in helping me understand my emotions. Personally, I’m a pen and paper kind of girl, but typing it out or recording an audio journal are some great ways to digest your thoughts.

As a bonus, having your breast augmentation journey recorded may serve as a helpful tool in conquering your next mountain!

Eat Brain Food Before Your Breast Augmentation

Let's set aside the fact that you want your body to be in good shape before breast augmentation surgery. The truth is, stress eating only leads to more stress.

Instead of turning to empty calories like ice cream or pasta, try to keep some healthy fats on hand. Avocados, grass-fed butter and salmon are rich in vitamins, including Omega 3’s. Since your brain is made up of fat, it needs to be fed good fats.

I’m just going to throw it out there that excessive caffeine doesn't do us any favors.

That one hurts me as much as as it does you.

Clear Some Clutter Before your Breast Augmentation

Physical clutter takes up mental space. You could consider this step “nesting” before the arrival of your new girls! Get to the bottom of your inbox, clean out your car or just take 10 minutes in the morning to organize your day.

I’m going to collect my stashes of spare change from around the house (I'm a coin hoarder) as one way to lighten my load.

Maybe I’ll cash it out and throw it in my “new bras” fund!

Dream Big

Making a Pinterest board with styles you want to wear after surgery is a fun way to pass the time before your big day.

Be sure to keep that Boobie Guide pic accessible so you can remind yourself what you have to look forward to.

Pray About It

Ok ok, I know that sounds cheesy to a lot of you—but it seriously helps me!

Anytime I feel like I'm emotionally carrying something that's too heavy for me or I'm getting super anxious about something, I ask God to hold it for me and it always helps.

Thoughts from Dr. Glenn Davis

Jenny Eden, thanks for sharing your journey and your tips. I especially like the journal idea. There is a natural psychological process that most women go through before and after surgery. It's anxious before and a mix of elation and questioning that happens afterwards. Wherever you find yourself in your journey, knowing where and why you started will be helpful.
