How old is too old to get breast implants?
Honestly, there is no TRUE answer to this!
It’s actually a very personal thing. The decision to get breast implants, that is. Especially when to get breast implants.
There may come a point in life when women decide that they would like a breast augmentation. It kinda fits with the whole ‘after kids’ phase in life that the average age of women seeking a BA is mid-30’s.
But… I’ve heard of women in their 70s getting breast implants! (Like my own grandmother!)
There are some limits when it comes to age and breast implants. In the US, for example, you should be at least 18 years old to get saline implants and 22 years old if you want silicone implants.
Beyond that there really is no set upper age limit for breast augmentation surgery. That being said, if you waited until you were in your 90s the risks of any surgery would be way higher than someone in their 40s, 50s, 60s or 70s so any plastic surgeon would have to have a serious conversation with their patient about the benefits versus the risks of an elective surgery.
There is no reason why you can’t reach out to a Board Certified plastic surgeon to find out more about breast augmentation, whatever your age. Every consultation is tailored to the patient, so factors (including your age) would be part of the discussion about how a breast augmentation would be right for you AND what the benefits and any risks would be for you, as an individual.
When it comes to breast implants age has (virtually) no boundaries :)
