Two years ago, my husband and I bought our very first house, and on the back of the property line is a little white barn that stores the mower and some random gardening supplies.
One of my favorite things about the barn is what lives under it... a groundhog that we’ve affectionately named Lil. Here is the best picture I’ve been able to get of her...
About once a week, we’ll see Lil poke her head out to make sure no one is around. If the coast is clear, she’ll venture into the grass about 5 or 10 feet at the most.
Even then, you can tell she is very nervous and cautious of her surroundings. Then at the first sign of being noticed, she’ll scurry back under the barn.
I can’t help but think about how Lil’s timid personality can be mirrored in our own lives.
Sure, it’s cute, but it’s also lonely. I want more for all of us than that. So be bold this year, decide what story you want someone to tell about your life, then get busy living it.
