Getting Past the Fear of Breast Implant Complications

“Everything you want is on the other side of fear”

(Jack Canfield)

Are you a fearful person? Are you prone to getting anxiety after researching all the pros and cons of things? Do you ask Dr. Google about every ache and pain you have?

If you’ve answered yes to any, or all, of these questions the prospect of a breast augmentation (and all the possible complications) could be a daunting thing for you.

So how do you get past these fears and find the courage to move forward on your boobie journey? Let's talk about it...

What’s Your Biggest Fear of Getting Breast Implants?

Take a deep breath... is it of something going wrong during plastic surgery? If it is, that's totally normal! You can even ask your plastic surgeon about this... trust me, they won’t be surprised to hear you ask.

I want you to know that there is nothing at all wrong with you going into your boobie journey with a little bit of fear. To paraphrase one of my favorite quotes... "All great men and women feel fear. The difference between them and everyone else, is that they choose to dance with it." :-)

Be Informed, But Beware of Google

Deciding to have any kind of surgery or procedure is a big decision and one you should make knowing about the risks and benefits. But just beware of what you're going to find if you Google "breast implant complications."

Breast augmentation is like so many things... statistically, having complications are very low, but you're going to find every single extreme complication if you go looking for them. And if you’re a research-the-hell-out-of-it kind of person, you’re liable to grind to a halt in your boobie journey if you take complications out of context.

It’s important to do your research and feel confident in your decision, but don’t let Google get in your way.

Trust Your Gut

I hear this so often in life and it rarely lets me down. Only make a decision and move forward when it all feels right.

It's okay to change your mind, too!

If your gut is telling you to go for it, then go for it! And if you're still having doubts, it's perfectly fine to take a break on your boobie journey!

Having boobies is great, I won't lie, but it is super important to feel confident in your decision before moving forward. Regardless of your decision, be sure of your motivations and always stay true to yourself.
