What’s the Deal with 3D Vectra Imaging for Breast Augmentation?

If you aren’t familiar with 3D imaging, it’s a fairly new technology that more and more surgeons are making available to women seeking breast augmentation. After doing a torso scan, they are able to show us a pretty accurate representation of different types and sizes of breast implants.

One of my favorite features is being able to see results with and without clothing from different angles. Here’s a good example of what I’m talking about...

A couple important points I need to make... First, never choose a surgeon just because they have access to the technology.

3D imaging does not replace finding someone who you trust and that you’re comfortable with.

I also don’t feel like it removes the need for you to identify a Boobie Guide. 3D imaging looks pretty good, but it isn’t quite ready to replace a real photo of a real person who has breasts which you would love to have.

That being said, I really like the reassurance it provides. In fact, in a recent study published in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, more than 80 percent of women who had 3D imaging said they would choose the same implant again. That’s huge!

If there is any downfall I can see to the technology, it’s that it could steal some of the artistry from the breast augmentation process in general. Even so, I would love to have had this option when I had my procedure.
