What Happens to Breast Implants After Having a Baby?

Video Transcript

Hey guys, Jenny Eden here. It’s been quite a few months since I have filmed a YouTube video, so I just wanted to jump in and say hello.

I had a little girl. I know in my last video I was pretty pregnant, so I wanted to show you guys, you can’t really see, but she’s napping right now which is why I’m doing a video.

We had just started getting into a good routine where I know when she’s going to nap and how long she’s going to nap for. Let’s see, I hope that lasts a pretty good while– not her nap but our routine.

Anyways, so I thought it’s a good time to start doing videos and jump back in because in 2016 I want to start getting back into the groove of filming multiple videos, posting at least one a week. I wanted to say thank you for subscribing and sticking with me.

What else was I going to say? Oh, I’ve been getting a lot of questions on social lately about breastfeeding since I had her with implants.

Now, when I was in my 3rd trimester, my breasts got pretty swollen, so I’m filling up with milk and all that good stuff. And then after I had her, I think it’s most likely because I had a breast reduction, but I had a very low supply, so although my breasts did swell up, I didn’t produce a whole lot of milk, so we had to start supplementing her with formula by the time she was 3 days old.

We went back and forth. I would breastfeed her, then she would formula feed and we did that at each feeding interval every 3 hours. By the third month, my supply was just so low. I was also pumping for 3 months on top of all that. I was getting about 2 ounces a day and that’s not enough for baby, so at the 3-month mark, I was like, “You know what, I’ve done my best.” I took herbs. I drank the mother milk tea. I was pumping. I was feeding her every 3 hours. I was doing everything I could possibly think of and my supply just wasn’t increasing.

At that point, I was just, let’s cut our losses, just formula feed her and not feel guilty about it, so that’s what I did.

I’m pretty happy to say that I didn’t make myself feel horrible because I know a lot of women do and I saw one of my friends kind of go through that and I really just wanted to avoid that as best as I could and I did thankfully.

Now, she’s 10 months old. She’s healthy and happy. My breasts didn’t change all that much. I would say after that 3-month mark when I stopped breastfeeding, the swelling part from the 3rd trimester was gone. They just stopped filling up with milk. It was just such a small amount that there was hardly any stretching of the skin. I didn’t get any stretch marks. My right one is a little bit, a teeny teeny bit lower than left, but I’m probably the only one that would ever notice that because I’m staring at it in the mirror.

But really, it’s so not noticeable that it doesn’t even bother me. My husband doesn’t even notice it. It’s probably that much lower because that’s the breast I primarily fed from because that one produced more than my left for whatever reason. My daughter would feed from my right more than my left, which would mean that one would be lower.

But anyways, I get a lot of questions like, “How are your breasts afterwards?” “Should I wait to get implants?” And really, the answer to that is going to be different for everyone because my supply wasn’t large. Had my supply been very big, I probably would’ve experienced more dripping, more stretching, probably stretch marks, but I didn’t simply because I didn’t produce a lot. I’m sure everybody’s different but that has been my experience, so you really just have to weigh it based on what you think.

I didn’t know and I got implants anyways 5 or 6 years ago. But I knew I was going to have a baby down the road but I didn’t want to wait. That’s just me. If you want to wait, go ahead and do it. But luckily, I didn’t have any complications from breastfeeding with implants. But again, everybody is different, so there’s no way to really know how your body’s going to react unless you’ve had a baby before and you know that you don’t have a huge supply then you’re probably not going to see a lot of changes.

…I even have my eggs here that’s how impromptu this video is but I just wanted to jump back in and say hello and thank you for subscribing.

If you haven’t subscribed, go ahead and subscribe because I have a lot of videos planned. I’m going to shoot them in 2016 especially for a New Year’s resolution. New Year’s resolution.

Good to see everybody and I hope that you guys stay tuned. Thanks!

As always, if you guys have any questions let me know right here. Thanks!
