How to Prepare Yourself for the Boobie Blues

Have you ever heard a woman talk about being so excited about her upcoming breast augmentation that she couldn’t hardly stand it… But then post op, she seemed depressed and started regretting her decision to have an augmentation? Maybe you’ve even experienced it yourself.

This backpedaling is called The Boobie Blues—the buyer’s remorse of breast implants, if you will.

First, let me say that this is completely normal. After all, there are a lot of really good reasons to second guess your decision in the first couple of weeks…

  • You may be experiencing a lot of pain or see a lot of bruising
  • Your implants are probably sitting really high on your chest
  • The pain medication could be causing depression and/or constipation
  • You may not be able to pick up your children for a couple weeks

The recovery process can be overwhelming—physically and mentally—but you’ve got to setup ways for you to remember why you got the augmentation in the first place. Here are some quick ideas…

  • Write a letter to yourself that reminds you why you had the procedure done
  • Ask your Boobie Buddy to encourage you on a daily basis for the first couple weeks
  • Create an inspiration board of your Boobie Guide to give you a visual reminder

Don’t let the recovery process blind you to what’s to come!

Your body will heal, your breasts will drop into place, the pain meds will stop and you will be able to use to restroom again like a normal person. The bloating will go away, and you will be able to pick your kids up in no time. Along with all these things going back to normal, you will have your new additions!

If you’re experiencing the Boobie Blues, I promise it will pass and you’ll be at the mall shopping for new bras in no time. Take a deep breath and remind yourself why you set out on this journey to begin with 🙂
