Today I had the privilege of interviewing Dr. Kevin Tehrani of Aristocrat Plastic Surgery in New York, NY. He has a very easy going spirit, and yet very detail oriented at the same time. I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know him and I can’t wait for you to meet him too!
Why Plastic Surgery?
It always intrigues me why people chose their professions, so I couldn’t help but ask. Dr. Tehrani enjoyed plastic surgery because he saw how much it helped make people feel better about themselves.
It also offers him a lot of freedom and artistry as well!
Dr. Tehrani found that during his general surgery training, most surgeries were very cut and dry with little wiggle room for creativity. Plastic surgery was a game changer for him, and loved how he could individualize the outcome for each patient.
The patient care aspect of plastic surgery is really important to Dr. Tehrani, as well.
He always takes the time to have at least two in-depth meetings with all of his patients to ensure he really understands their desires. His goal is to see what it is you’re really wanting and hoping for.
Not only does he have you try on sizers, but he also uses Vectra Imaging which allows you to see what your breasts will look like after getting implants. His goal is to get you to see what you want to look like, without having to stress out about cup size or CC amount.
I really love this because a lot of us get caught up in numbers and cup sizes!
The Right Fit for Each Patient
Another thing I love about Dr. Tehrani is that he’s not adverse to saline implants. He feels that there is a place for saline and silicone in certain types of patients.
He prefers to place saline implants through a belly button incision called TUBA. (He’s been placing breast implants through the belly button for many years, and has great accuracy and results from them without any scaring!)
Another thing that Dr. Tehrani does that blew me away is scheduling an appointment and a reminder for all his silicone patients to get their FDA-recommended MRI (with silicone, you’re supposed to get MRI’s to see if the shell has ruptured). I haven’t heard many surgeons doing this, and I was super impressed that he goes the extra mile to ensure his patients are well taken care of.
Advice from Dr. Tehrani
I asked Dr. Tehrani for his top three pieces of advice for women getting breast implants, and here’s the list he quickly shared:
- Go on at least 2 different consultations
- Take your time
- Take your post op recovery seriously
If you’re in the New York City area, I would highly recommend checking out Dr. Tehrani. He is so knowledgable, patient and detailed in his approach, and I know you’re going to love your results!
